Veros Petroleum CEO Yahya Tarek Diab wins global Best in Oil and Gas at Forty Under 40 Awards in Dubai
The Chief Executive Officer of Veros Petroleum Limited, Yahya Tarek Diab, has been honoured as the Global Best Icon in Oil and Gas at the prestigious Forty Under 40 Awards Global, held in Dubai.
The award recognises Diab’s remarkable leadership in reshaping the oil and gas sector through sustainability and innovation. Organisers cited his ability to tackle complex industry challenges and deliver strategic solutions as central to his selection for the honour.
Since its establishment in 2014, Veros Petroleum has grown into one of Ghana’s trusted oil and gas marketing firms, licensed to supply petroleum products nationwide. Under Diab’s leadership, the company has expanded rapidly and made notable contributions to employment and industry competitiveness.
Addressing the international gathering after receiving the award, Diab reflected on his entrepreneurial journey, stating, “You don’t have to be great to start, you have to start to be great. Life gives us two options: either you sink or swim, and 10 years ago, I decided to swim.”
“Today, I stand as the CEO of Veros Petroleum, one of Ghana’s Oil and Gas marketing companies. Proudly, not only are we working with the biggest in the industry, but we are competing against them,” he added.
Highlighting his company’s achievements, Diab said, “At the age of 27, my company has achieved over twenty-one fuel station retail outlets across Ghana and has employed over 400 direct and indirect people and the workforce. I was recognised as one of the youngest Oil and Gas CEOs in the sector.”
In a heartfelt tribute to Ghana, Diab dedicated his award to the country that he says welcomed him and his team with open arms. “As I take this award, not only will I present it to my company but to a nation that has welcomed various diversities and has welcomed us with its love and care, and that nation is Ghana, thank you,” he said with a smile.
Organised by Xodus Communications Limited, the Forty Under 40 Awards Global aims to celebrate the achievements of exceptional young business leaders under 40 years old. The second edition of the awards featured contenders from over 15 countries, honouring those who are shaping industries and remaining relevant in an ever-evolving global business landscape.
