This is how to report extortion incidents to a hotline at any airport in Ghana
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has set up a dedicated hotline for passengers to report acts of extortion by staff and officials operating inside Ghana's airport terminals.
In a public notice issued on June 15, 2026 the company urged travellers to report any incidents of extortion involving personnel from agencies including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, GRA Customs, NACOC, Port Health, airlines, ground handlers, private security companies, and others.
The hotline number, +233-54-2175636, is displayed on Flight Information Display Screens and at key locations across the terminals.
Passengers can report via call, text, or WhatsApp, and are encouraged to provide the person's name and agency to enable prompt action.
The company said it holds regular stakeholder engagements with all agencies operating in the terminals, and that these sessions have led to measurable improvements recently.
Staff working in the terminals have clearly displayed ID cards for easy identification. Passengers are advised to ask for confirmation of an officer's agency if in doubt.
"We solicit the cooperation of the general public in our continuous effort to enhance seamless travel experience at our airports," the company stated.
The GACL reiterated its commitment to fighting extortion and taking appropriate action against any staff found culpable.
