Accra set to host Africa-Caribbean Business Trade Show on April 22
The stage is set for the Africa-Caribbean Business Trade Show, an event aimed at deepening commercial ties between Africa and the Caribbean, which opens on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
Organised by the Bahamas-Ghana Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the AfCFTA Policy Network (APN) and AfCFTA Trading Limited, the two-day trade show is poised to spotlight Ghana’s pivotal role in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and serve as a springboard for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) looking to expand into Caribbean markets.
The trade show is also expected to serve as a high-level policy and trade diplomacy platform.
The organisers have extended an invitation to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Francis Kojo Kwarteng Arthur to deliver a keynote address under the theme: “The GEPA Doctrine: Building SME Export Supremacy in the AfCFTA Era.”
According to the Chamber, his presence would “project Ghana’s trade diplomacy before the Caribbean and AfCFTA Secretariat leadership” and highlight Ghana’s alignment with AfCFTA’s vision through public-private sector synergy.
With AfCFTA implementation gaining momentum, the event will showcase Ghana’s bid to become a hub for South-South trade. “Ghana has the potential to establish itself as AfCFTA’s gateway to Caribbean markets through APN’s continental networks,” the letter noted.
Beyond the exhibition, the event will offer curated business-to-business sessions, policy discussions, and a platform for African and Caribbean stakeholders to engage on cross-border trade, investment, and innovation.
Organisers say the trade show will also launch a long-term SME development initiative with quarterly impact reporting, while positioning Ghana as a leader in aligned standards, certification, and market access frameworks under AfCFTA.
The Africa-Caribbean Business Trade Show opens at 9:00 a.m. on 22 April 2025 and runs through 23 April, promising to bring together policymakers, business leaders, development partners, and innovators in a shared bid to build stronger trade bridges across the Atlantic.
