Jospong Group Executives honoured at 2023 Ghana CEO Awards

At the 2023 Ghana CEO Awards, held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, over 70 Chief Executive Officers were recognized for their exceptional contributions to their respective sectors. Notably, four executives from the Jospong Group of Companies were among the honorees.

Mr. Daniel Asiedu, Managing Director of OmniBSIC Bank, received the Personality of the Year award in the Private Sector category. Ing. Mrs. Florence Awaa Cobbold, Managing Director of Sewerage Systems Ghana Ltd, was bestowed with the Outstanding Leadership award in the Female category. Mr. Michael Padi Tuwor, Managing Director of Accra Compost and Recycling Plant Limited, clinched the CEO of The Year award in the Sanitation category. Dr. Philip Oti-Mensah was acknowledged as the Chief Operating Officer of the Year for 2023.

Under the theme "The Role of Business Leadership Towards Achieving the SDGS in Ghana," the Ghana CEO Awards, in its second year, aimed to recognize and celebrate a diverse array of the country’s most influential and accomplished CEOs. These leaders have not only maintained their relevance but have also harnessed the power of ideas to make a meaningful impact on lives and the nation as a whole.

In his address to the distinguished attendees, H.E. Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in promoting sustainable development and realizing the SDGs. He also underscored the public sector's indispensable role in providing a conducive environment for the private sector, particularly in areas such as macroeconomic stability, robust national identification and address systems, financial inclusion through mobile money interoperability, domestic revenue mobilization, and credit systems through credit scoring.

Mr. Latif Abubakar, the brainchild behind the award scheme, in his opening remarks, asserted that the Ghana CEO Vision Awards serves as the ultimate platform for celebrating visionaries who have flourished against the odds and transformed ideas into reality.

In her response on behalf of the awardees, Ms. Sophia Kujordzi, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Jospong Group, expressed heartfelt gratitude to both external and internal stakeholders for their unwavering support and patronage. Their contributions have been instrumental in ensuring that the Jospong Group continues to lead in every sector it operates.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including H.E. Charles Abani, United Nations Resident Coordinator, H.E. Javier Guitierrez, Spanish Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Harriet Thompson, the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Mark Okraku-Mantey, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Ghana, H.R.M King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the King of the Ga state, among several other notable figures.
