Ebenezer Twum Asante — CEO MTN Ghana

NCR congratulates MTN Ghana boss

The Network of Communication Reporters (NCR) has congratulated Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante, the new and first Ghanaian CEO of telecoms giant, MTN Ghana.

"We are glad with Mr Asante's appointment to the top position at MTN Ghana and we are particularly proud of him because we have worked with him in his previous capacity in Ghana and we have no doubt he is cut for this job," a release from the NCR said.

The NCR noted that during Mr Asante's days as the Sales and Distribution Executive (SDE) of MTN Ghana, the company's subscriber levels and product sales shot up drastically and it was, therefore, not a surprise the Group transferred him to Rwanda to become the CEO.

"We have no doubt about what Mr Asante can do to give value to and further excite customers as CEO," the release said. "We look forward to more customer-centred services and products with Mr Asante at the helm of affairs at MTN Ghana," it said.

The release added: “The NCR also acknowledges the affability, approachability, and the deep thinker Mr Asante is, and looks forward to a closer working relationship with him as CEO of MTN Ghana.”

Prior to joining MTN, Mr Asante spent 13 years with Unilever, where he held various positions, including Managing Director for Zambia and Customer Development Director and member of the Unilever Ghana Board.

He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College and was part of MTN’s Global Advancement Programme (GAP) in 2010.GB
