A Leader lives by laws of teamwork
The ability to lead shows that a person is a leader.
A leader has followers. A leader is able to direct or guide a group of people.
The strength of a leader is also in his ability to have the individuals he leads work together in a group.
A group is stronger and able to achieve far more than an individual.
Jesus Christ worked with and led different groups of workers.
These different groups achieved different amazing things which helped the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus had the 12 apostles who were with Him and whom He sent out.
“And he ordained 12, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils” (Mark 3:13-15). This group of 12 are even recognised in heaven.
The power of the team did not end on earth!
Jesus had the group of 70. “After these things the Lord appointed other 70 also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come” (Luke 10:1).
He gave this group also the power to preach, to heal the sick and to cast out evil spirits.
This group returned from their mission with amazing testimonies. “And the 70 returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name” (Luke 10:17).
Then there was the group of 120 who continued to pray in the upper room in Jerusalem after Jesus had ascended to heaven. This group included the apostles, the women, the mother of Jesus and Jesus’ brothers.
“Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty)” Acts 1:12 -15
Laws of teamwork
1. The leader ensures that everyone in the team knows what the leader is trying to do.
When people understand what you are trying to do, it helps them to flow in the vision and it helps them to work with all their strength.
2. The leader ensures that everyone in the team knows what he is expected to do.
This allows you to know who to blame when things go wrong and who to praise when things work out.
3. The leader ensures that everyone in the team knows what every other member of the team is supposed to be doing.

That is why you must have meetings with individuals and then meet them in a group so that others would know what is going on.
4. The leader ensures that everyone in the team has a complete section in which he has full control. A leader delegates people to do things.
He gives them control over the sections that have been delegated to them.
5. Give a lot of praise and recognition to your team members in public.
If you want somebody to repeat something good, praise him for that thing.
6. Give criticism and rebuke to your people in private. As a team leader, your criticism must be constructive.
If you want to correct somebody, do not do so in front of their subordinates. It will weaken their position of authority in the sight of their subordinates.
7. As a team leader, accept responsibility for everything and anything that goes wrong. Take the blame and share the glory. This is one of the outstanding traits of a good leader.
8. Do not complain about or condemn your team members. One of the ways to strengthen a team is not to condemn the members of the team. This helps the team to bond and do exploits.
Forgive and overlook the mistakes of team members.
It makes such a difference!
9. Decide always to give advice on how to do things better.
A leader can ensure teamwork by consciously giving advice on how to improve the work. In so doing, the group is able to do things better.
10. Treat everybody as very important. When you see someone who doesn’t look important, be nice to them.
They may not look important but treat them as important. This provokes them to do their best.
11. Reposition and relocate people until they are in the place they function best.
It is a wonder to see people what they do best.
On the other hand, it brings great frustration to see people unable to do well because they are wrongly placed.
A team in their right positions is a wonder when they get to work.
12. Give people jobs according to their personalities. Some people are light-hearted and merry, others are moody and strict. There is a type of job that suits each person.
Do not take the individual personalities for granted. Use it to advantage!
A leader is able to accomplish great feats through the people he works with.
The work of these different groups of people is greatly helped and enhanced by teamwork.
A group is able to achieve more than individuals.
In fact, the Bible is so clear about the great fruit that comes through team work.
“And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword” (Leviticus 26:8).
Indeed, there is great power in teamwork!
