Happy Easter, be safe

Christians the world over will be marking Easter which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For Ghanaians, the Easter period is observed with holidays which give many people the opportunity to unwind and also spend time with friends and family.

The long holidays also afford people who live away from their families the chance to travel back to catch up with affairs at home. 

While some prefer to mark the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus in sober reflection about the decision of Jesus Christ to sacrifice Himself to save mankind, others celebrate the occasion partying and attending the many entertainment events which will be happening across the country. The most notable of these are the Kwahu Easter festivities, which have become arguably the biggest entertainment activities in the country. 

Even as we celebrate the holidays, Showbiz urges all revellers to keep safe and not over indulge. Far too often after festive occasions such as this, we are inundated with numerous media reports about revellers who have been injured or even lost their lives. It is important that people bear in mind that there are numerous dangers all around them and take precautions to keep safe. 

Vices such as excessive alcohol intake, drink-driving among others must be avoided in order to preserve lives and property.
