Amoo, said stiff competition from some CCG member churches, coupled with the general poor reading culture in the country, had negatively affected the company’s operations.
Asempa Publications is the literature wing of the CGC.
"We are not averse to competition, but we find it a bit disturbing when activities of our major stakeholders, whether intended or unintended, end up pushing us gradually out of business," Mr Amoo said.
Achievements
Highlighting some of the achievements of Asempa Publishers over the past 50 years, Mr Amoo said the company had made contributions towards the development of Christian literature by publishing a wide range of books, including materials on Christian teaching, practical Christian life, marriage and family life; music and hymn books, and devotional literature.
"On the educational front, we have published books for pupils and students from primary school up to the tertiary level," he stated.
Mr Amoo noted that the publishing outfit would have more engagements with the churches at various levels to discuss and explore ways to work together effectively to meet the literature needs of the church.

"We have more to offer to the church.
Good Christian literature with good content are the materials that the world needs to be able to live the lives which are worthy of Christ.
As the industry journeys down the path of digitisation, we cannot help but develop new competencies and capacity with the view to meeting the changing needs of customers in the future," he promised.
Relaunch
To launch the 50th anniversary celebrations, Asempa Publishers relaunched some of its old publications.
Mr Amoo entreated the general public to develop the habit of reading and to patronise books published by the company.
