The President highlighted the unifying spirit of Christmas, describing it as a time for joy, reflection, and gratitude.
“Tonight, our nation is united in celebration, reflection, and gratitude for the gift of life and the boundless grace of the Almighty,” he remarked.
He reminded Ghanaians of the enduring values symbolised by Christmas—love, hope, and compassion—and drew inspiration from the story of Jesus Christ.
“Christmas reminds us of the ultimate gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose birth brought light into the world and gave humanity the promise of salvation. This story inspires us to be our brother or sister's keeper, to extend a hand of kindness, and to uphold the dignity of every individual,” President Akufo-Addo said.
Urging citizens to foster unity and compassion, the President called on Ghanaians to reflect on the meaning of living as “one nation under God.”
“In our homes, let us create memories that are marked by laughter, forgiveness, and the simple joys that remind us of life. And in our communities, let us renew our commitment to being instruments of peace and progress,” he said.
President Akufo-Addo encouraged Ghanaians to extend kindness to the less fortunate, emphasising the value of giving not only material assistance but also the gift of time, love, and presence.
