Recently, I was not surprised yet delighted when Reverend Eastwood Anaba referred to Stonebwoy as a prophet. Such a description underscores the profound impact of his music and the positive message it often conveys. However, it is precisely because of his influence that I believe he must stay focused on his craft and avoid unnecessary distractions, such as the recent controversial comment he made during an interview on Angel FM 96.1 in Kumasi.

Stonebwoy’s decision to refer to Shatta Wale as a “big mouth” and “Anokeseɛ” was, in my opinion, below the belt. This kind of remark detracts from his otherwise stellar reputation and does little to advance his music or the industry as a whole. Fans, including myself, hold him to a higher standard, especially because we all condemned Shatta Wale when he made similar disparaging comments about Stonebwoy in the past. For someone of Stonebwoy’s caliber, such comments are unnecessary, and an apology is warranted.

He has collaborated with prominent international artists, such as Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Burna Boy, and Alpha Blondy, to name a few. Ghanaians also hailed him for bringing Jamaican dancehall artist Spice to Ghana, an event that showcased the power of his global connections and influence. These achievements speak volumes about his talent and dedication to his craft, further emphasizing why he must focus on building his legacy instead of engaging in trivial disputes.

Artists like Stonebwoy often rely on their management teams to provide guidance on public appearances and interviews. It is crucial for his team to ensure that he refrains from making inflammatory or irrelevant comments that could harm his reputation.
