Afrobeats singer Abbi Ima is now Abbi Ayizam. The TV3 Mentor alumna has rebranded, unveiling her new stage name as she embarks on a fresh chapter in her music career.

According to her management, the name change reflects her roots, personality, and brand growth, giving her a unique identity in the industry as she takes her music global.

“Abbi Ayizam is more than just a name, it represents clarity, authenticity, and the evolution of an artiste true to her roots,” Qwedjoe Mayopia her manager said.

He also assured fans the same energy and talent remains adding, “Fans and industry stakeholders can expect the same quality, confidence, and originality from Abbi Ayizam as she steps into this exciting new era of her career”.

Born Abigail Ayizah, Abbi Ima has a good reason to blow her trumpet over her noble achievements in the last few years when she announced her presence on the music scene.

Since 2020, the Bono East artiste has been pushing her works and it paid off when she was nominated in the Next Rated Act, Bono East Region and Emerging Woman at 3Music Awards in 2022.

IN 2020, she won Song of the Year at Brong Ahafo Music Awards (BAMA) and has since performed with the likes of Kuami Eugene, KiDi, Ofori Amponsah and Kojo Antwi.

Abbi Ima has gained recognition for songs such as African Girl, Only You, Zanziba, Fakers, Bronya and the latest Give Me Love featuring Fancy Gadam and produced by Ekay.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, November 24, she mentioned that her achievements come with new challenges and prospects to conquer.

“It seems the saying that the industry is hostile to female acts has become a cliché but that is the reality and a challenge up and coming female acts are facing.

“And that is why the successes in the face of stiff competition from the pool of male artistes means a lot to me. As I step into this new chapter, I'm embracing my new name, Abbi Ayizam, which represents a fresh start and a renewed sense of purpose.

“I'm proud to be a role model for young girls and women in the industry, particularly those from my region, and I hope my success inspires them to keep pushing forward despite the challenges,” she said.
