You would think they would pull out all the stops as his 22 year stint as the host of the Tonight Show  came to an end.

But poor Jay Leno had to endure Kim Kardashian's singing on his last ever episode as host of The Tonight Show.

The reality television personality gave it her all as she shrieked her way through a spectacular Sound Of Music themed Farewell Song.

She was just one of a cadre of stars who sang as a member of the Shut Your Von Trapp Family during the Billy Crystal arranged ditty.

Emerging to a muted reception, she sang: So long farewell last night I told my folks, now I won't be the butt of Leno's jokes.'

Generous Jay seemed pleased with her effort, and thankfully a host of other stars were also involved.

Jack Black sang, 'if Fallon tanks, you'll be back here next year,' while Jim Parsons warbled, 'your success is called the big chin theory.'

And Oprah raised plenty of guffaws, and made the show's star hot under the collar, when she sang: 'You really raised the bar if you were me you'd buy them all a car.'

The chat legend came out firing during his opening monologue, referencing a host of hot topics, including his dramatic return after Conan O'Brien's firing as host and his long-running feud with David Letterman.

He said: 'I don't like goodbyes - NBC does. I don't care for them”.
