Film delegation back home
A delegation representing the Accra International Film Festival (AIFF) is back home after attending the 18th American Black Festival (ABFF) in New York City, United States.

The AIFF is organised by Katamadara Concepts. The festival’s delegation to the United States comprised Osmo Kwame Addo, CEO of Katamadara Concepts and Executive Director of the festival Lady Asantewaa, Managing Director of Katamadara Concepts and Edward Agyekum Kuffuor, AIFF’s brand ambassador.
The ABFF is an annual four-day independent film festival that focuses on works by Black members of the film industry. It is generally seen as a crucial forum for Black filmmakers to meet, network, collaborate and celebrate Black cinema.
This year’s ABFF was held from June 19 to June 22.
The AIFF Executive Director told Daily Graphic on their arrival back in Accra that the delegation had useful, wide-ranging talks about how AIFF and ABFF could work together in the future
According to him, the delegation met with notable Black producers, directors, actors and screenwriters, several of whom expressed willingness to contribute in diverse ways to see AIFF grow into a formidable, international event.
This year’s AIFF will come off in November and a sizable delegation from the African-American film making community is expected to attend.
Last year’s AIFF was held from June 25 to June 30 and was climaxed with a dinner and awards night at the State House in Accra. Well-known American film actor, producer and director, Bill Duke, was the special guest at the festival.
