Fowl Play thrills audience

FOR close to three hours, there was no dull moment at the University of Ghana Drama Studio when it played host to Fowl Play on Friday, April 10. Patrons had no choice but to be treated to an evening filled with side-splitting laughter, sharp wit and meaningful lessons.

From the moment the play began at 6:30 pm, the atmosphere was electric as the cast delivered their lines with confidence and energy. Patrons who filled the auditorium for the Kuta Body Alone production were kept engaged from start to finish.

Fowl Play is a satirical stage drama that explores themes of deception, greed and the consequences of human choices.

Using humour and relatable characters, the story follows a chain of events triggered by selfish decisions, exposing how personal gain can sometimes lead to unexpected trouble.

The actors brought the story to life with impressive performances, drawing the audience into every scene. Their timing, expressions and chemistry on stage contributed greatly to the success of the show. Each character was well portrayed, making it easy for patrons to connect with the unfolding drama.

The production also stood out for its well-chosen costumes and simple but effective set design which took the form of a farmyard, which help create a believable and engaging stage environment. The visual elements complemented the storyline and added depth to the overall presentation.

Despite its strong delivery, the production was not without a few minor challenges. Some scenes featured long stretches of dialogue that slightly slowed the pace, while a few technical hitches were noticeable.

Fowl Play is part of efforts by Kuta Body Alone to promote theatre on campus and create a platform for young creatives to showcase their talents.
