The countdown is on for one of the biggest celebrations of Ghanaian music in the diaspora as the Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA-USA) comes off on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Princeton, New Jersey.
Dubbed "Biggest Music Night," this year's event will take place at the Carnegie Center, 102 Carnegie Center Drive, New Jersey with the red carpet beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the main awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m.
Theme, "Music for the Stars," the event is expected to bring together Ghanaian musicians, industry stakeholders and music lovers from across the United States and beyond to celebrate excellence in Ghanaian music.
The ceremony follows the successful unveiling of nominees in Kumasi on Thursday, April 30, where organisers officially set the stage for this year's awards and heightened anticipation for what promises to be another memorable celebration of Ghanaian music.
The ceremony will be spiced up with performances by Wendy Shay, Piesie Esther, Stella Seal and Kwabena Kwabena, while celebrated comedian OB Amponsah will take charge of the comedy segment.
Over the years, the Ghana Music Awards USA has honoured musicians across multiple genres while creating opportunities to promote Ghanaian music on the international stage.
The event has also served as a networking hub for artistes, producers, managers and entertainment executives seeking to strengthen ties between Ghana's music industry and its global audience.
This year's awards feature 35 competitive categories, with 24 recognising Ghanaian musicians based in the United States and 11 honouring artistes and industry players in Ghana. The structure underscores GMA-USA's commitment to strengthening the relationship between Ghana's music industry and the Ghanaian diaspora.
