Kiddafest 2013 takes off
The National Theatre of Ghana will celebrate the 2013 Accra International Children’s Arts Festival (Kiddafest) as part of its 20th year anniversary.

The festival is from Thursday, December 12 to December 15 and is under the theme is My Culture Rocks. As usual, it would be a platform to mark the best in children’s creativity.
Activities to be engaged in daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm are theatre, music, dance, poetry, comedy, beauty and fashion shows and story-telling.
New to the festival this year is a kiddie carnival; a circus from Denmark; performances by a delegation from Nigeria; a performance of the Lion King stage drama by students from Tema International School; a holiday shopping bazaar; a thanksgiving service and a special tribute to the late Ronnie Coaches of Buk Bak fame.
There will also be a special treat for adults this year. In partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Creative Arts, there will be a Gifts of the Season bazaar where unique made- in -Ghana items will be available.
Items on offer at the bazaar will include clothing, beads, wood carvings and a variety of souvenirs.
African Footprint International (AFI) alongside Nafsi Acrobats from Kenya will today, open Kiddafest with music, acrobatics and aerial dancing. African Footprint International comprises artistes from Ghana, Denmark, Kenya and Burkina Faso.
The group is also scheduled to delight children with a repeat performance tomorrow Friday, December 13.
Other performances lined up for Kiddafest include shows by the National Dance Company, Abibigromma, National Symphony Orchestra and several groups from various schools throughout the country.
A special programme dubbed Terry Bonchaka Night will be in honour of artistes who passed through Kiddafest and Fun World before becoming stars in their own right.
These include Buk Bak, Tic Tac, Ex Doe, Chicago, Omanhene Pozo, Barima Sydney, Sherifa Gunu and Martha Ankomah.
Blue Band, Cowbell, Fan Milk, Kalyppo, Goethe-Institut, E’toys and More, Crown Paint, Logistic Movers Dannex and the Institute for Music and Development, are partnering the National Theatre for Kiddafest 2013 which ends on Saturday, December 14.
