Kiekie urges content creators to draw clear boundaries between fame and family
Nigerian actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as Kiekie, has highlighted the importance of maintaining clear boundaries between personal life and public persona.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, she revealed that she has deliberately drawn a firm line between her private life as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori and her brand identity as Kiekie, a comic performer.
“I’ve created a clear distinction between who I am personally and what my brand represents. My brand revolves around being an event and TV host, an actor and a content creator, with comedy at its core,” she explained.
Kiekie noted that her husband, Tunji Ilori, does not appear in her content because he is not inclined toward comedy. However, she occasionally features her daughter, Nola, describing her as naturally suited for the camera.
She was quick to add that even then, there are limits, stressing that she only creates content with her daughter during school holidays.
Emphasising the need for moderation, Kiekie urged fellow creators to exercise restraint, particularly when involving family members in their content.
“We tend to overuse viral moments until they lose their appeal, and that’s where oversharing becomes a problem,” she said.
