Learners from Samkluga Ultimate Academy hold guests at EweZa Forum captive with cultural displays

LEARNERS from the Samkluga Ultimate Academy (SUA) at Klenomadi, near Weta, in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region held the gathering at the EweZa Development Forum 2026 spellbound, not only with their dancing skills but also with the flamboyant costumes.

They also mesmerized the audience with poetic recitals and various Ewe drumming and dances to extol the rich culture of the land.

The cultural exposition, organised by the development-oriented non-governmental organisation, EweZa Foundation, on Saturday (August 1) was on the theme: A vision for the future of the Volta Region.

The Culture Coordinator at the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, Michael K. Teyi said it was time to redefine the development conversation of the Volta Region.

“Too often, development fora conclude with inspiring speeches and beautifully written communiques, yet the true measure of leadership is not how eloquently we speak; it is rather what we build after we have spoken,” he added.

Mr Teyi said real development meant creating opportunities that improved lives, and ensuring young graduates could build a successful career without leaving the region.

“It also means enabling farmers to earn incomes through modern agriculture, while attracting industries that process what we produce instead of exporting raw materials,” he maintained.

The Founder and Executive Director of EweZa Foundation, Michael Sebastian Nunya and Kuwornu, said the Volta Region was a leading destination for investment, tourism, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth, while remaining proud of its heritage and identity.

He said achieving that vision required collaboration, bold thing, and shared commitment to the desired future, without leaving out the young ones.
