Lincoln sings for Ghana girls

When he came to Ghana for the first time five years ago, his main aim at the time was to visit a Ghanaian friend he had met online but that did not materialise.

Fate, perhaps, had its own reason for bringing the Australia-based Jamaican artiste, Lincoln Brown to Ghana. His search for his ‘lost’ Ghanaian friend found him at Alajo in Accra.

Touched by the poor living conditions of some of the residents there, Lincoln promised to come back to Ghana to establish a charity to raise funds to finance a project for the needy in Ghana.

That good intention influenced the composition of his song, Ghana Girls, on his new album, No One But You, which he is currently in Ghana to promote.

The  album has songs like Gimme Little Thing, Girl You’re Amazing, Come With Me, Feel and It’s true.

The other songs are Pata Pata, Let’s Give, Money In my Pocket and I Don’t Really Care.

Brown Lincoln gives a hint of his romantic side as most of the songs on the album have love themes except Ghana Girls.

He takes it cool with Let’s Give but gets rather funky on Feel. He offers his own rendition of the popular song, Pata Pata. All the songs on the album are reggae.

On Ghana Girls, he sings about his admiration for Ghanaian women and his obvervation of the way they dress and walk.

He is hopeful that Ghana Girls, which he said is one of his favourite tracks on the album and composed through divine intervention,  would help push up  Ghana’s name on the international scene.

He would also use his presence in Ghana now to assist some Ghanaian artistes get international exposure.

Apart from that, 50 per cent of the revenue accrued from the worldwide sale of the album would be invested in the charity project he intends to undertake in Ghana in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts.
