‘Ovation Red Carol’ comes to town
Ovation International Magazine, regarded by many as the continent’s premier celebrity journal, will for the first time, host its famous Ovation Red Carol event in Accra.
Scheduled for Saturday, December 14, at the State House Banquet Hall, the Ovation Red Carol will bring together top-rate celebrities and business moguls from across the continent to be filled with a lot of music and fun. It is an invitation-only event in support of charity.
The Accra programme would be the sixth Ovation Red Carol and it is themed: It’s All About Hope.
The Winneba Youth Choir, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary, and other star performances from Ghana and Nigeria will also take to the stage.
“The Red Carol has for years been the biggest end- of- year event in Nigeria and we are certain that this Ghana adventure will be even bigger,” an Ovation magazine official said.
This year, the Ovation Red Carol honours the late Professor Kofi Awoonor. There will also be a special tribute to Nelson Mandela.
A long list of Ghanaian celebrities have already endorsed the Ovation Red Carol. They include Ofie Kodjoe, Amanda Jissih, Becca, Belinda Baidoo, Ben Brako, Blakofe , Confidence, Edem, Elikem the Tailor, Joselyn Dumas, Juliet Ibrahim and Lydia Forson.
Others include Yvonne Okoro, Reggie Rockstone, Mzbel, Richie Mensah, Stephanie Benson, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Stonebwoy and Quophi Okyeame
Ovation magazine officials say the Red Carol event would be broadcast live on television in Ghana , Nigeria, and the United Kingdom. It will also stream live on the Internet at www.ondbox.com.
