Support gospel musicians-Juliet Duodo to churhes
USA-based Ghanaian gospel artiste, Juliet Duodu has urged well-established churches in Ghana to provide support to instrumentalists and singers.
According to the Winning Side singer, these music ministers play a crucial role in spreading the gospel and uplifting congregations, yet they often struggle to make ends meet.

She believes that established churches have a responsibility to empower and support these talented individuals, particularly the up and coming ones.
The singer, who won the Gospel Artiste of the Year award at the recently held Central Music Awards 2024, emphasized the importance of music in worship and evangelism.
She noted that music ministers were not just entertainers, but rather vessels used by God to touch hearts and lives.
“It's time for our churches to recognise the value of music ministers and provide them with the necessary support. This can include financial support, training, and resources to help them excel in their craft.
“As an artist, I know that a lot of money goes into producing good and well-mastered songs. However, some church leaders overlook this aspect, focusing solely on the spiritual aspect, forgetting that money is involved.
“This support enables musicians to focus on sharing the gospel through music, enhancing worship experiences, and inspiring congregations,” she said.

With the rise of new talents and the increasing popularity of gospel music, some gospel artistes have expressed the growing need for churches to support and empower music ministers.
Recently, popular gospel musician, Uncle Ato charged the church to support gospel musicians and instrumentalists.
Although concerns about the music industry have been raised by Juliet Duodu and others in the past, making them seem like a familiar refrain, the latter told Graphic Showbiz that it's crucial for artistes to continue voicing their concerns.
“Just because an issue has been raised before doesn't mean it should be ignored. I believe that consistent advocacy is necessary to bring about change and improve the industry”, she added.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her fans, family, and team for their unwavering support.
Last month, she dropped "Ayeyi Wura (Lord of Praise)," to celebrate the majesty, glory, and sovereignty of God and hopes her new win will further her gains in the industry.
