They drained everything! – Joselyn Dumas cries out after MoMo's fraud
Ghanaian actress Joselyn Dumas has opened up about how she allegedly fell victim to a sophisticated mobile money scam that left her account completely drained.
In a video shared on March 17, 2026, the actress detailed how the incident unfolded, revealing that she lost a significant amount of money from her MTN Ghana mobile money wallet.
According to her, the ordeal began when she reached out to someone she believed to be a representative of DStv Ghana to upgrade her subscription. The individual, she said, was polite and convincing, and later sent her a link requesting her decoder details and PIN.
Although she admitted feeling a moment of doubt, she said the person reassured her, claiming there were technical issues that required them to complete the process from their end. She was then sent another link and pressured to quickly enter her mobile money code while being guided through additional steps.
Moments later, her account was wiped out.
“As soon as I confirmed my number, I felt a vibration on my phone and just like that, all my money was gone,” she recounted.
Joselyn further revealed that the scammer didn’t stop there. Using her PIN and phone number, the fraudster gained access to her mobile money app, enrolled her in a short-term loan service known as XtraCash, and proceeded to take a loan in her name before withdrawing the funds.
“While still speaking to me, he had access to my MoMo app, signed me up for a loan service, and took money in my name,” she added.
Beware of the numbers you pick online or websites as well because majority of them are fraudsters!!!!

Even after regaining control of her account, she said funds she later deposited were deducted by MTN Ghana to repay the unauthorized loan.
The actress is now using her experience to caution the public, urging people to remain vigilant, avoid sharing their mobile money PINs, and be wary of unsolicited links or urgent requests.
She also called on DStv Ghana to strengthen its customer protection systems, stressing the need for tighter security measures to prevent others from falling victim to similar scams.
