Prince Bright of Buk Bak fame urges come-back musicians to get their strategies right in order to succeed

To succeed, go back to drawing board —Prince Bright to come-back musicians

Certainly, nothing compares to the frustration a musician goes through no matter how hard he tries to connect with the people he once appealed to, after a hiatus.

Such artistes cannot believe they are unable to send the people into a frenzy like the good old days with their new songs. As a result, some just give up while others keep deluding themselves, churning out what they think should be bangers.

Hiplife artiste Prince Bright of Buk Bak fame, who is familiar with that experience, is advising his come-back colleagues not to just throw their hands in the air and give up.

Rather, he is asking them to come back big by going back to the drawing board, working hard and studying the current music trends to understand what the people want.

“I see a lot of musicians who have tasted fame before and trying so much to fit into the current music scene but are unable to do so, things are just not working for them. Sometimes, we just have to study the current music trend and give the people what they want.”

“You see, some of my colleagues still stick to the old ways of doing things and fail anytime they come back. They forget people who used to enjoy their music have different taste in music now and as such their new cravings should be satisfied,” he told Graphic Showbiz.

According to Prince Bright, he tried a few times to come back after his partner Ronnie Coches died some nine years ago but things did not work for him.

“I have been there before so I know what I am talking about. I tried to come back a few times after my partner died but it didn’t work. I went back to the drawing board, took my time to see how things were going, and I am preparing to come back big. Our days are different from now so there is the need to adapt to new situations,” he said.

Prince Bright also advised that there was no need for come-back acts to be jealous or envious of the new crop of musicians who were making it now.

“Everyone has their time so I don’t see the need to be jealous of artistes such as Kuami Eugene or KiDi or Black Sheriff or whoever is on top now. We had our time so if it’s their time, let them enjoy,” he added.

Asked if he had a replacement or was thinking of one, Bright Prince said he had had a lot of musicians approaching him to partner him but he turned them down because Ronnie is irreplaceable.

“Truth be told, I have had requests from a number of talented musicians who want to partner me and start the whole Buk Bak thing again but I always decline because no one can replace Ronnie Coches.”

“Also, because of the respect I have for him, I just don’t want to go in for anyone. But then if any musician wants a collaboration with me like I did with Sarkodie on Oofeetso, I am always available,” he said.
