Turd Talks 2.0 delivers on promise

COMEDIAN Oh Joo promised patrons an exciting night of laughter and creativity at the second edition of his popular show, Turd Talks 2.0 and he delivered on his word.

The well-attended event, hosted at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Accra, on Saturday, saw the audience treated to a different kind of comedy experience, one that blends humour with thought-provoking presentations, resulting in side-splitting laughter.

Unlike the usual stand-up routines, Turd Talks uses a unique format, where comedians combine jokes with PowerPoint-style presentations, turning the stage into a playful lecture hall.

The concept, inspired by intellectual talks, gives performers the chance to mix sharp humour with storytelling and mock analysis.

From the moment the show began, the atmosphere was lively, with patrons fully engaged as each act delivered a mix of witty observations and creative punchlines.

On the night, Oh Joo who headlined the show with support from colleague comedians including General Ntatia, Clemento Suarez, Papayaw Ataamle, Bernard the Magician and Kojo Pjay took turns to present their topics on everyday experiences, social commentary and unexpected twists, drawing laughter from patrons.

Oh Joo expressed his desire to push comedy beyond just entertainment. He noted that Turd Talks is about creating something bold and intentional, where humour meets ideas in a refreshing way.

Some patrons who spoke to Graphic Showbiz after the show described it as refreshing and different from the usual comedy events in the city.

The mix of visuals, presentations and humour gave the audience something new to enjoy, making the experience both engaging and memorable.
