For the many members of Victory Bible Church, Sunday is a day for sound biblical teachings, prayer, worship and fellowship, and last Sunday, August 30, was no different.
The regular church service was held at the Dominion Sanctuary in the morning, but by evening, the familiar church auditorium had undergone a dramatic transformation as thousands including non-members returned for a different kind of worship experience — GLORIFIED 2026, hosted by gospel artiste Perez Musik.
With the church service done and dusted, the sanctuary filled up again, this time with music, performances and an extended evening of praise and worship under the theme, “His Grace and Mercy.”
What followed was an evening that brought together emerging gospel talents and some of the country's established gospel acts, turning the Dominion Sanctuary into a vibrant stage for music while retaining the spiritual character of the space.
From the opening performances to the final worship session, the auditorium remained charged, with a line-up that deliberately placed emerging gospel talents alongside some of the established names in the genre.
The evening began with budding artistes Naa, Tasha, William, Essah and Maame Biamah, who took turns leading worship and giving the audience a taste of the next generation of gospel music.
The energy shifted several notches when urban gospel artiste Kinzkid mounted the stage. His energetic performance drew the younger audience to their feet, while spoken word artiste Jeffery Nortey followed with a captivating ministration that added another dimension to the evening.
Then came gospel heavyweight Joe Mettle.
His appearance took the already charged atmosphere into a deeper worship experience as he delivered a powerful set that had the congregation singing, dancing and lifting their voices in praise.
But the night ultimately belonged to Perez Musik.
Taking the stage before an expectant audience, the host and main act moved through a repertoire of his popular songs, sustaining the worship atmosphere that had built throughout the evening.
Known for incorporating the Ga language into his gospel music, Perez also used the occasion to create new music, recording brand-new Ga songs live on stage and giving the audience an opportunity to witness the creative process firsthand.
Beyond the performances, GLORIFIED 2026 also stood out for its emphasis on emerging talent, with younger artistes given a platform to perform before a large audience alongside established gospel ministers.
For the thousands who filled the Dominion Sanctuary, the evening offered more than a concert. It was a Sunday experience that moved from the familiar setting of church into a celebration of gospel music, culture and worship.
The event also earned praise from attendees for starting at exactly 4 p.m., as advertised, with the organisers' punctuality complementing the performances and the overall production.
