Wine lovers attend tasting event

The Wines of South Africa (WOSA) Company has held its second wine tasting event in Accra.

The programme brought together producers, marketers and distributors of South African wines as well as people in the hospitality and tourism industries.

The Africa Market Manager for WOSA, Matome Mbatha, said the event was to explore and offer more opportunities for Ghana’s hospitality sector to showcase their knowledge and talent in the wine industry and hopefully help entrench the culture of wine beyond the traditional markets.

“We are thrilled to host the event again this year, to establish the presence of South African wines in the Ghanaian market and also to bring awareness about fine wines to consumers here,” the WOSA official said. 

A lucky guest won an all-expense paid trip to Cape Town, South Africa to attend the third WOSA Sommelier World Cup.

It is a competition for trained and knowledgeable wine professionals, normally working in fine restaurants, who specialise in all aspects of wine service as well as wine and food pairing.
