Light of the World School holds graduation
The Headmistress of the Light of the World School Complex, Mrs Esther Hamilton, has called on parents to build a solid moral foundation for their children.
That, she said, was vital for the growth and success of the children.
Mrs Hamilton made the call at the graduation of 35 kindergarten pupils of the school at New Aplaku in the Ga South Municipality in the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking on the theme: “The State, Schools and Parents - Major Stakeholders in Child Educational Development”, Mrs Hamilton said parents were major stakeholders in the development of their children, and so should not leave their upbringing in the hands of teachers alone.
The Weija District Police Commander, Superintendent Shaibu Abubakar Siddique, who was the guest speaker, asked Ghanaians to support one another to deal with issues such as crimes by setting up neighbourhood watch groups.
“Policing is a shared responsibility so let us work together to ensure a peaceful society,” he said.
He also advised parents to invest more in their children’s education since “education is the best legacy you can bequeath to your children.”
