Educate all children — Rev Fr Hawerkamp
Rev. Father Wilhelm Hawerkamp, the Founder of the Crystal Wilhelm Educational Complex at Ashaiman, has said that one of the greatest needs of Ghanaian children is to have access to education.
According to him, “if as a country, we want to develop very well it will begin with educating the children, who are the future leaders.”
Rev. Father Hawerkamp was speaking at the seventh graduation ceremony of the school which was held on the theme: “Building the future leaders of tomorrow, today”.
Mrs Barichisu Adams of the Ghana Education Services (GES) said, “education is a way for parents and guardians to invest in their children and wards and should not be about academic performance only.
She said children need training, which involves both parents, guardians and teachers”.
She, therefore, entreated parents to pay the school fees of their children promptly.
The Headmaster of the school, Mr Edwin Osei-Kuffour, said apart from academic work, “we also focus on the social, spiritual and moral lives of the children, by involving them in extra-curricula activities such as being members of the Red Cross, the Drama and French clubs, the Cadet Corps among others”.
