2023 edition of Predecessors Awards launched

The 2023 edition of the annual Predecessors Awards has been launched in Accra on the theme, Legacy: Impart before You Depart.

The Founding President of the Predecessors Awards Worldwide and author, Mr Raphaelle Antwi explained that the awards scheme was committed to five-star projects that would be beneficial to society. These projects aimed at tackling issues of authority, appreciation, foundation, legacy and succession. 

Europe’s edition of this year's awards comes off on Saturday, July 29 in Strasbourg, France. Countries selected are The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, United Kingdom and the host country, France. 

Categories to honour predecessors include Family, Education, Religion, Law & Order, Sports, Charity, Leadership, Hospitality, Music, Creative Arts, Health and Business. 

The American edition will happen on Saturday, August 26 in Columbus, Ohio. Participating countries include Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the host country, USA. Categories to honour nominees include Leadership, Sports, Music, Education, Charity, Hospitality, Health, Business and Creative Arts.

For Africa, this year’s event will be hosted in Accra, Ghana on Thursday, September 21. Selected countries include Nigeria, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Benin, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola and the host country, Ghana. 

In all, 75 heroes from the aforementioned categories are expected to be awarded. The organisation is also appointing special ambassadors from the three continents to each represent one of the five-star projects.

In their calls to action, Mr Dennis Agyeman and Miss Ruby Okine, President and Vice-President of Predecessors Awards Worldwide respectively, encouraged the general public to support this initiative as it sought to build legacies for future generations.
