‘And God Came Down’ hits Takoradi on Christmas Eve
Setting the Christmas mood again in Takoradi this year is ‘And God Came Down’, a creative re-imagination of the nativity story with a contemporary Ghanaian setting.
Happening on Tuesday, December 24 at Central Assemblies of God Church, opposite the Central Police Station in Takoradi, the play will give patrons a more exciting Christmas experience.
This theatre production is a brainchild of the Creative Ministry of Central Assemblies of God Church in Takoradi.
With the sole aim of redirecting the focus of Christmas to Christ, this year’s play also dubbed ‘The Egypt Edition’ takes the audience on a journey of how the Israelites settled in Egypt and how God brought them a saviour when they ended in slavery.
In 2023, theatre patrons who saw a previous version of ‘And God Came Down’ were thrilled by its excellence, beauty and the performance of the production team.
The play brings fresh perspectives about the Christmas story and treats theatre lovers to its unique storytelling flavour. The story is interspersed with bible readings and live music performances.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and admission is free.
