ExGlo Foundation brings skills training, support to Upper East Region communities

In a move to support and improve the lives of those in Ghana's most deprived rural communities, ExGlo Foundation has undertaken a transformative outreach programme in the Upper East Region.

This initiative provided essential resources and skills training to the Nayire community and the Sandema District Hospital.

The outreach commenced in Nayire, where the ExGlo team conducted training on liquid soap production. This skill-based training, requested by the community, aimed to equip participants with entrepreneurial skills to generate additional income and support their families. Alongside the production skills, participants received guidance on basic marketing strategies and profit management to help turn their newfound skills into successful business ventures.

Following the training, the foundation distributed clothing and shoes to approximately 250 community members, addressing immediate needs and receiving a warm welcome from the Nayire community.

At the Sandema District Hospital, ExGlo extended its support by donating essential items, including sanitary products, toiletries, and baby care items. These donations were directed toward new mothers and their infants in the maternity ward and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), offering much-needed assistance to those in critical stages of care.

The Founder of ExGlo Foundation, Professor Patience Aseweh Abor said "we are grateful for the opportunity to support the livelihoods of our people. ExGlo’s commitment is to enhance the quality of life for communities through education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihood projects. We hope that this token of support will have a ripple effect on the socio-economic development of these communities.”

Prof Abor also extended her heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers, donors, team members, and supporters, stating, "The dedication and hard work of everyone involved made a tangible difference in the lives of those we served."
