Knii Lante inspires with GH Gold
In a period of unprecedented challenges, like what pertains in Ghana at the moment, one can choose to focus on the negative or embrace the positive and singer/composer, Knii Lante has opted for the latter stance with his newly released ‘GH Gold’ track.
Initially out on March 29 at limited outlets such as Audiomack, Spotify and YouTube, ‘GH Gold’ goes on general release on all digital music platforms from April 5. It is a song meant to motivate us all not to lose faith in ourselves because people elected to public office are fumbling, the economy is severely challenged and many are uncertain of the future.
The sprightly reggae piece goads us on to count our blessings and hold our heads up high with a positive attitude because Ghana is the only country we have and we must firmly cling on to her.
We dey love our Ghana
So we dey rep Mama Ghana
As long as it is Ghana
Always our Ghana
Hold high our Ghana…….
We go breathe again
Ghana go rise
Rise up…..
“Obviously, so many people are down about the future, the economy has gone haywire and everybody is complaining. I felt the need for something to help lift up our spirits and came up with ‘GH Gold’ to say that once the end has not come for us, the future is still bright,” Knii Lante stated.
This is not the first time he has stretched his imagination to hug issues of a social nature. His song, Wen E Rain, was about the plight of the many who suffer after a heavy or moderate downpour; 52 Ambulances talked about the inadequate number of ambulances in the state fleet and Humanity was a tribute to the frontliners during the COVID-19 epidemic.
Every March is widely marked as Ghana Month and there couldn’t have been a better way for Knii Lante to end the period than with this track which echoes his usual bubbly attitude to reggae.
He wrote the song and played bass guitar on the recording. Other hands that contributed were: Master Maison and Wade Johnson (keyboards) and Monty (guitars). Knii Lante and Master Maison produced the song.
‘GH Gold’ is the first of two singles set to precede Knii Lante’s upcoming EP titled ‘A Pot Of Gold.’
