Seven go for Miss Akwaaba crown

The original plan was for six of them to compete at the final event to choose the ultimate winner for the Miss Akwaaba Season 3 pageant.

However, the seven young women in the last elimination show all glowed so much that each  of them now has the opportunity to clinch the crown.

Therefore,  Maa Adjoa, Boatemaa, Naa Lumor, Mina Aba, Bubune, Awura and Naa Adjeley will confidently step on the stage in the Exhibition Hall of the National Theatre at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 11 to contend for the top prize of a car and GHS10,000.

“It was tough bringing the figure down to six. We eventually felt the seven should go up there and convince the judges and voters on which one of them must be the ultimate prizewinner,” said Joe Osae, CEO of  Ceejay Multimedia, the event organisers.

As part of the final show, the seven wrestling for the crown will put on a fashion show and display their dance skills through choreographed pieces. There will also be presentations related to Ghanaian culture and tourism. Last year’s winner, Naa Borkor, will also make a presentation on her one-year reign.

The first runner-up in the pageant gets a cash prize of GHS7,000. The second runner-up receives GHS5,000.  The three ladies will also enjoy a weekend stay at the Volta Hotel, by courtesy of the hotel’s management and Dodi World.

“The finalists have gone through adequate grooming over the last 13 weeks. Any of them is capable of being a wonderful ambassador of culture and tourism for this country, which is what we set out to make of them. We are looking forward to a keenly-contested finale,” the Ceejay Multimedia boss stated.

The Miss Akwaaba Season 3 final event will be live on Ceejay TV, Akwaaba TV and all of Ceejay Multimedia’s social media platforms.
