Goal

At the event, the convener of Career Compass, Dickson Assan, said the goal of the exercise was to support the education and future of the children.

"Education is not just about books or classrooms, it is about the opportunity for all children from different backgrounds to be able to forge a path to achieve great feats,” he said.

Mr Asssan used his story of growing up in a farming community in the Ahafo Region and walking long distances to attend school to encourage the pupils to stay focused and work towards their goals, encouraging them that they could succeed through hard work and dedication.

Mr Asssan urged parents and teachers to support the children’s education, noting that education could help children in rural areas, access opportunities in professions such as law, medicine and teaching.

He thanked all collaborators and donors, including Dr Khadija Iddrisu of EmpowerEdge Hub, Dr Rhoda Afriyie Mensah of Nurture-Up Legacy Foundation and Seyram Aku Amakpah-Azasu of Volta Ambassador.

Mr Assan also showed appreciation to individuals, friends from LinkedIn and the entire team for making the donation possible while calling on parents, teachers and community members to work together to create an environment that supports children’s education.
