NSMQ 2023: KETASCO boot-out Tamale SHS and Augusco to qualify for semi-finals
Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) on Tuesday secured a spot in the National Science and Maths Quiz semi-finals, triumphing over Tamale Senior High School and St. Augustine’s College in the quarter-final.
KETASCO dominated with an impressive 44 points, while Tamale SHS garnered 35 points, and the 2007 and 2019 champions, St. Augustine’s, achieved 32 points.

The victors, KETASCO, now anticipate the outcomes of the day's other quarter-final clashes, featuring Kumasi Sec. Tech School, Yilo Krobo SHS, Mfantsipim School, Ghana Sec. Tech. School, Accra Academy, and defending champions Presbyterian Boys SHS, to determine their semi-final opponents.
The semi-finals promise thrilling matches, as Wesley Girls' High School, Achimota School, and St. Louis SHS, having already secured their positions, gear up for a showdown on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
Additionally, Prempeh College, Pope John Minor Seminary SHS, and Opoku Ware, emerging victorious in their respective quarter-final contests, are set to face off in another semi-final clash.
The 30th Anniversary edition of the National Science & Maths Quiz kicked off on October 6, 2023. Notably, this year's NSMQ is making history by spanning across two regions: KNUST in Kumasi and the National Theatre in Accra. The Preliminary four stages are hosted at KNUST, culminating in the Grand Finale at the National Theatre, marking the first time the National Championship extends across two distinct venues.
