Ablakwa assures Ghanaians of protection amid rising U.S. visa sanctions
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has assured Ghanaians that the Mahama administration will intensify diplomatic engagements to protect the interests of Ghanaian citizens amid tightening United States visa restrictions.
In a Facebook post, Mr Ablakwa said that as more countries face U.S. visa sanctions, including the imposition of visa bonds of up to $15,000, Ghanaians should remain confident that the government will work to ensure citizens are not unfairly disadvantaged.
He emphasised that Ghana’s foreign policy under President John Dramani Mahama is anchored in mutually beneficial partnerships that align with the country’s strategic national interests, while safeguarding the dignity and international mobility of its people.
“Trust us to keep fighting for you,” the Foreign Affairs Minister said, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to proactive diplomacy that delivers tangible benefits for Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
