Activities to promote harmony among religious groups launched

A week-long celebration that seeks to harmonise the activities of the three major religious bodies in the country has been launched in Accra.

Dubbed the “National Interfaith Harmony Week,” the occasion seeks to bring together Christians, Muslims, Traditionalists and people of other religious faith to consolidate the prevailing unity and peaceful co-existence and harmony in the country.

The celebration, which will start from September 27 to October 11 this year will include activities such as debate, public lectures, panel discussions, sports and interfaith church services.

Theme for celebration

The programme, the first in the country, is under the auspices of the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) with support from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) and other corporate institutions and organisations.

The theme for the celebration which is expected to be an annual event is, “One nation, many faiths.”
