MOGA to hold national health walk August 2

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA) will on Saturday (August 2, 2025) hold a national health walk as part of it's yearly activities.

Dubbed “The MOGA National Health Walk 2025,” the walk which is scheduled to take place simultaneously by all chapters across the sixteen regions and in the diaspora, is on the theme; “Purple Steps, Healthy Hearts, One MOGA.”

A statement signed by the National Vice-President of MOGA, Shirley Tony Kum, and released to the Graphiconline said the walk aside the health benefits would bring thousands of Mfantsiman alumnae and others together for a day of physical activity, network and for fun.

The statement said the annual health walk, which is a flagship event on the calendar of MOGA underscores the commitment of the association to promote preventive health and foster a culture of wellness and unity among members.

“This year’s simultaneous walk across the globe reflects our strength as a global sisterhood. The event is expected to attract over 500 old girls of Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School, along with supporters, families, and affiliate educational institutions,”the statement added.

It said the Accra edition is scheduled to start at 6:30 a.m at the car park of the University of Ghana Stadium while the regional chapter takes place in Koforidua, Kumasi, Swedru, Winneba, Cape Coast and Takoradi.

Invited schools

“Old boys and girls associations from St Augustine’s Past Students Union (APSU), (Santaclausians from Adisadel College, Mfantsipim School (MOBA), Wesley Girls High School (Wey Gey Hey), Holy Child Past Students Association (HOPSA), Nananom of the Ghana National College and the AMOSA’s from the Aggrey Memorial Memorial Zion Senior High Schools have all been invited the join the health walk," It added.

The Statement further extended an invitation to the public, health enthusiasts, and corporate partners to participate and support the initiative.

 It indicated for instance  that the Accra event will include a health walk around the University of Ghana campus, aerobic workout session led by certified instructors, health screening and interactive sessions with healthcare professionals.

Sponsors for this year’s health walk include, Voltic Ghana Limited, Blue Skies Company Limited, FanMilk Ghana, Mr. Yoghurt, Aramex, Shades of Sam, Qualicare and St. Michael’s Hospital.
