What Dorcas Affo-Toffey told Parliament's vetting committee about building rail line from Jomoro to Tema
Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the Member of Parliament for Jomoro in the Western Region, who has been nominated for appointment as a deputy minister of Transport has told Parliament's Appointment Committee about how she will help build a railway line from Jomoro to Tema in Greater Accra when approved as a minister.
Appearing before the vetting committee on Friday [July 15, 2025] she proposed the construction of a railway line linking Jomoro to Tema as part of efforts to enhance Ghana’s railway infrastructure and facilitate the movement of goods.
Dorcas Affo-Toffey expressed her commitment to revitalising the railway sector and making it more attractive to investors.
“One of the things when I’m given the nod is I will work with my sector minister [Joseph Bukari Nikpe] to open it up for private investment, or investors to come on board to see how we can revamp the sector to make it viable to help us as a country,” she stated.
