Akuapem Ridge, best place to be at Easter — Akuapem South MCE
“One of the best places to be at this time is the Akuapem Ridge,” the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly has stated, championing the serene green and mountainous municipality as a prime destination for all, as the Easter festivities begin.
In an interview with the Graphic Online, the MCE, Mr Paul Osae Offei, wished all celebrants well, stating that “just as Christ sacrificed himself in love, we should all also emulate the same thing, live cordially and peacefully with each other, as we remember his death and resurrection.”
He urged all celebrating the Easter festivities to do so in moderation, and “have ourselves back to work” after the celebration with no mishap.
“Remember, that the season is for love and not for ourselves,” he added.
To all travellers up the Akuapem Ridge, Mr Offei said, “One of the best places to be at this time, is to climb the Akuapem Hills; come to Akuapem South, because we have a lot to offer, for you and your family.”
The Akuapem South Municipality boasts of the Ayi Mensah to Peduase walk way, a favourite with walkers who undertake the 4,348 steps journey from the start to the end.
It also has the Aburi Botanical Gardens, with some ancient trees and chalets, where people can picknick.
The Aburi Crafts Village, also presents an arena of the intricate, complex and nice carvings of wood.
The range also is reputed for its cool weather, when the sun is scorching hot in Accra.
