The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for its ongoing recruitment exercise by one week following technical challenges on its online recruitment portal.
In a press release issued in Accra on October 31, 2025, the Department of Public Relations at the General Headquarters, Burma Camp, said the new deadline is now November 7, 2025.
“The Ghana Armed Forces has extended the deadline for the ongoing recruitment exercise by one week due to some technical challenges encountered on the recruitment portal during the initial period,” the statement said.
The release was signed by Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, Acting Director General of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The military apologised for the inconvenience caused and appealed to applicants and the general public for their cooperation.
The recruitment exercise, which began on October 1, 2025, involves registration and verification centres in all 16 regional capitals.
It forms part of a government plan to enlist about 12,000 new personnel into the Armed Forces over the next three years.
Applicants are required to purchase an electronic recruitment voucher at a cost of GH¢200 from selected Ghana Post offices before accessing the online portal at apply.mil.gh.
The process covers enlistment into the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Applicants must be Ghanaian citizens by birth, of good character, and between 18 and 25 years of age for non-tradesmen, or up to 27 years for tradesmen.
The Armed Forces has also cautioned the public against fake recruitment links circulating on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram.
It stressed that official information is published only in the state-owned Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times newspapers.
In late October, the Cyber Security Authority identified 86 fake social media accounts impersonating the Ghana Armed Forces and engaging in recruitment fraud in just one week.
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr Brogya Genfi, has reminded the public that recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is “not for sale” and will be transparent and based strictly on merit.
Prospective applicants now have until November 7, 2025, to complete and submit their applications through the official recruitment portal.
