CARE International in Ghana mourns victims of helicopter crash

CARE International in Ghana has expressed deep sorrow over the helicopter crash near Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, which claimed the lives of eight people, including cabinet ministers, senior government officials, and members of the Ghana Air Force.

In a message issued on Friday, 8 August 2025, the organisation extended its condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the Government, and the people of Ghana, describing the tragedy as a national loss.

“We are profoundly saddened by this loss. These individuals served the country with commitment and courage, and their passing is not only a loss to their families and colleagues, but to the nation as a whole,” the statement read.

CARE International in Ghana said it stood in solidarity with the government, bereaved families, and the entire nation during this period of mourning.

“We pray for strength to bear this tragic occurrence. As an organisation committed to supporting Ghana’s development efforts, we share in your sorrow. Please accept our heartfelt sympathies and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. May they be given eternal rest,” the statement concluded.
