Mawuko Outreach founder honoured for outstanding leadership in human services

The founder of Mawuko Outreach, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering vulnerable populations through education, community engagement, and access to essential services, has been honoured with "The Outstanding Leadership in Human Services Award" at the Annual Conference of the National Organization for Human Services (NOHS).

At the event held in North Carolina in the United States on November 8, 2025, Dr. Isaac Mawuko Adusu, received the prestigious award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, innovation, and commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families across diverse communities.

The award celebrates leaders who exemplify excellence in advocacy, service delivery, and professional development in the field of human services, while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and making a significant, positive impact on the world through their work.

Under Dr. Adusu’s leadership, Mawuko Outreach has grown into a respected voice for empowerment, implementing programs that address services gaps for people with disabilities, health disparities, and social inclusion for underserved populations. The organization’s community-based approach has earned international attention for its impact and sustainability.

Dr. Adusu’s exceptional leadership spans two continents and multiple vulnerable populations. Besides Mawuko Outreach Ghana, he currently leads strategic direction and quality services at Seven Hills Foundation, Rhode Island, United States, in his role as Assistant Vice President.

His work has led to creation of impactful programs and policy changes. His advocacy has resulted in measurable improvements in services and funding, and his mentorship has developed countless professionals who continue his mission of compassionate, evidence-based service.

His unique combination of international perspective, domestic expertise, innovative thinking, and practical implementation made him an ideal recipient for this prestigious award.

The National Organization for Human Services, a United States based organization, representing Human Service practitioners, educators, students and future Human Service Professionals, promotes excellence in the delivery of human services through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Each year, the organization’s annual conference gathers practitioners, educators, and leaders from across the country to share best practices and celebrate achievements that advance the field.

For Dr. Adusu, the award serves as both recognition and motivation. “This moment strengthens my resolve to continue building systems that uplift lives,” he said. “Human services is more than a profession, it’s a calling to make the world a better place for all.”
