FirstBank Ghana partners Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2025 - Aims to champion Africa’s next generation innovators

FirstBank Ghana has formed a strategic partnership with Global Entrepreneurship Festival (GEF) 2025 in support of innovation and entrepreneurship promotion.

The GEF, considered to be the world’s largest and most influential gathering which provides a solid platform for achieving the same goals, is expected to be held in Accra from November 21 to 23, this year, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel & Resort.

The GEF is part of the headline events to mark the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The event is recognised as a premier platform that propels the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the AU Agenda 2063.

The Global Entrepreneurship Festival promotes collaboration, empowers entrepreneurs, curates investment opportunities and supports the development of solutions that drive economic progress and societal transformation.

This year’s festival is expected to attract 10,000 in-person participants, reach over 10 million virtual viewers and feature 100 exhibitors and over 60 global speakers from more than 70 countries.

Organised on the theme “The AI-Powered Entrepreneur: Creating a Sustainable Planet,” GEF 2025 will delve into how artificial intelligence is reshaping entrepreneurship, unlocking new business models and enabling enterprises to scale sustainably.

The theme aligns closely with FirstBank Ghana’s commitment to digital innovation, small and medium enterprises (SME) growth and the development of future-ready financial solutions.

Speaking on the partnership, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FirstBank Ghana, Victor Yaw Asante, restated the bank’s dedication to advancing entrepreneurship.

“FirstBank is proud to partner with the Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2025, a platform that mirrors our commitment to innovation, youth empowerment and sustainable economic transformation.

Entrepreneurs are the backbone of Ghana’s development, and as the world embraces AI-driven solutions, we see this partnership as a powerful opportunity to equip businesses with the financing, digital tools and strategic support they need to scale globally,” he said.

“Together, we are helping shape an Africa that is competitive, resilient, and ready for the future,” Mr Asante added.

The hosting of the landmark international event in Ghana follows President John Dramani Mahama’s declaration of Ghana’s readiness to welcome the world to the Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2025, thereby extending a warm invitation to thousands of global delegates, investors, innovators, policymakers and business leaders to engage with Ghana’s growing innovation and enterprise ecosystem.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Director of Partnerships for GEF, Dr Joy Francis, said, “Global Entrepreneurship Festival remains committed to building a world-class platform where entrepreneurs, investors and institutions collaborate to shape the future of global enterprise.

We are delighted to have FirstBank Ghana alongside us this year, strengthening our shared mission to accelerate innovation, expand access to opportunity, and drive sustainable economic growth across Africa and the world.”

Over the three-day festival, participants will experience 12 immersive events, including the Global Leadership Forum, the International Women’s Congress, the International Trade Fair & Exhibition, the Innovations & Robotics Expo, the Global Recognition Awards Gala, the Hackathon sessions, arts and entertainment showcases, a fashion show, and a grand closing concert.

The festival aims to foster knowledge exchange, highlight cutting-edge innovation, drive trade and investments in the deal rooms and advance global entrepreneurial collaboration.

Through this partnership, FirstBank Ghana strengthens its role as a key driver of national development, innovation and financial inclusion, while positioning Ghana as a leading destination for global entrepreneurship.
