According to Mrs Wood and Gbadegbe, they were directly mentioned by the contemnors in comments about the civil motion: Abu Ramadan and Evans Nimako vs the Electoral Commission and Attorney-General, which was pending before the court.

The panel was reconstituted with Justices Julius Ansah and Sophia Akuffo replacing them.

The contemnors include owner of the station, Edward Addo, host of Pampaso, Salifu Maase alias Mugabe, Alistair Tairo Nelson (panelist) and Godwin Ako Gunn (panelist) who are currently before the Supreme Court judges.

Former chief of staff, Nana Ato Dadzie is representing the Montie FM owner, Martin Ampofo Agyei is the lawyer for Mugabe and Member of Parliament, George Loh is representing the two panelists; Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn.

Background

Nelson, 41, and Gunn, 39, issued threats of harm or death on Supreme Court and High Court judges on June 29, 2016, the eve of the Martyrs Day commemoration.

Nelson has apologised for the comments but Gunn insists that although he made the comments regarding the Abu Ramadan and Electoral Commission case, he was not in the studio of Montie FM on June 29.

Montie FM have since condemned their utterances and apologised to the Chief Justice and justices of the Supreme Court.
