Chiefs asked to collaborate with police to curb crime

The new Police Commander for the Lakeside/Ashaley Botwe District in the Greater Accra Region, ASP. Moses Osakonor has entreated the chiefs and the traditional authorities to to collaborate with the police to help curb crime and other social vices .

He also appealed to the general public to alert the police whenever they noticed any criminal activities around them.

The police commander stated these when he paid a courtesy call on the chief and elders of Ashaley Botwe to officially introduce himself to the palace.

He said the police had introduced a number of measures to improve security and enhance the wellbeing of the people
The Ashale Botswe chief, Nii Afutu Kotey Gbomosane II, thanked the District Commander for the respect accorded the palace through the visit, adding that it was a move in the right direction.

He expressed appreciation to the government and the Police Service for the creation of the new Lakeside/ Ashale Botwe district.

Nii Gbomosane II stated that the coming into being of the new police district had saved them the inconvenience of having had to go to Adenta all the time to report cases.

He urged ASP Osakonor to make police patrols a regular thing in the area and also advised inhabitants under his jurisdiction to feel free and approach the palace on all relevant issues.
