Christians urged to be thankful to God in spite of challenges
The General Overseer of the Maker’s House Chapel International (TMHCI), Dr Michael Boadi Nyamekye has urged Ghanaians to remain thankful to God in spite of the difficulties they encountered in 2015.

He said sometimes the difficulties that people encounter tend to make them less appreciative of the goodness of God in their lives.
“There are times in the life of a Christian where the events that happen to you will make you not willing to give thanks but regardless of the adversity that we encounter, we must be prepared to give thanks to God,” he said.
Remain optimistic
He has, therefore, called on Ghanaians to remain optimistic even in the face of challenges and to look into the future with hope and expectation.
Dr Nyamekye said this when he delivered a sermon to mark this year’s family and friends thanksgiving day in Accra Sunday.
Basing his sermon on Psalm 137:1-4, he said most often people got to places in their lives where they find themselves in strange and despondent situations.
“A place where your expectations are cut off. The things that you have been anticipating do not come to pass and therefore, you find no logical reason to thank God”.
But he said praise and thanksgiving should not be on demand saying no one should require another to praise God.

“All that you require to praise God is to remember how far he has brought you. There are others who have not been fortunate to be alive but you are,” he urged.
‘Do a reflective analysis of your life’
He said the economic expectations of Ghanaians might not have been achieved but there was still good reasons to be thankful to God.
“All you have to do is to look back and do a reflective analysis of your life. You do not know what God has delivered you from and so it becomes difficult for you to praise God,” he said.
He said the fact that the country seems to be in a fix now did not mean that God had abandoned the people of Ghana.
“God does not abandon his own. Don’t retire your harps because of your difficulties. Sometimes what we call delays are deferments of better things that God has for our lives. The vision is for an appointed time and though it tarries, wait for it” he admonished.
