Damage found on President Akufo-Addo’s statue in Sekondi-Takoradi
A noticeable hole has been discovered on the back of one of the legs of the statue of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, located in front of the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region.
Some residents of Takoradi had previously expressed their intention to remove the statue and this threat appears to have partially come to fruition, with a part of the statue now damaged.

It remains unclear whether the damage was intentional, caused by those opposed to the statue, or the result of a structural issue.
The statue was unveiled by President Akufo-Addo at the entrance of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital during his regional tour ahead of the general election.
Meanwhile, Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, has explained that the statue was erected to honour key projects initiated under Akufo-Addo’s administration in the region, including the rehabilitation of Effia-Nkwanta Hospital, the construction of the 3-tier Sinohydro interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.
