
Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings calls on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II
The Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle in Accra, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, on Wednesday called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings, who chairs Parliament’s Committee on Defence and Interior, said the visit was part of ongoing engagements with key national figures.
She acknowledged the guidance of the Asantehene, whom she described as a source of wisdom and stability, and briefed him on matters relating to the country’s security situation, particularly in areas affected by longstanding conflict.
According to her, the discussions centred on the well-being of communities impacted by insecurity and the need to pursue lasting peace through traditional mechanisms and dialogue.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu, who has played a long-standing role in peacebuilding across the country, encouraged continued efforts to address disputes through culturally appropriate solutions.
He stressed the importance of unity and traditional leadership in fostering national cohesion.
