The uncompleted structure was released to the Regional Police Command in year 2000 to help serve as a temporary quarters for police personnel as a result of insufficient residences in the Tema Metropolis to accommodate them.

The Police Command recently served notice to its personnel to vacate the flats since it had been sold to a private developer but the officers argued they didn’t have funds to rent accommodation and hence cannot move out.

Graphic Online gathered that the uncompleted structure which has been on divestiture since 1990 has been sold to the developer who has served a quit notice to the Police administration.

To help avoid any legal tussle, the Police Command in turn asked its personnel to vacate the structures and thus requested the ECG to cut power supply to the flats.

Graphic Online also gathers that the Ghana Water Company has also been informed to disconnect water supply to the flats as part of the moves to eject the police personnel.
